Job Overview:
The primary responsibility of a Patient Care Technician (PCT) is to deliver essential support to patients, assisting them with daily living activities that they may find challenging, such as personal hygiene and mobility. This role requires a compassionate individual who is dedicated to enhancing the well-being of others.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- BLS Certification from the American Heart Association
- Valid certification as a nurse aide in long-term care facilities, registered in good standing
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English
Preferred:
- Minimum of one year experience in long-term care settings
Certifications and Licenses:
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Current nurse assistant certification from the state health department
Scheduling Requirements:
- Day shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
- Weekly schedule may vary based on departmental needs
- Full-Time commitment (40 hours per week)
- Mandatory orientation sessions
Essential Functions:
- Deliver daily nursing care, including assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) and restorative nursing
- Provide resident care encompassing grooming, toileting, bathing, transferring, positioning, ambulation, feeding, and documentation
