Job Summary

CMT Technical Services is seeking a skilled Construction Materials Inspector to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting routine field testing of construction materials to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform field testing of concrete, soil, asphalt, reinforcing steel, masonry, fireproofing, structural steel welding and/or bolting to ensure compliance with ACI, WAQTC, CAPA, ICC and AWS certifications per ASTM and AASHTO standards and state requirements.
  • Collect data and report testing results daily in accordance with project requirements.
  • Develop expertise in construction material inspections, plan interpretation, mathematical and written communication, and understanding of how materials behave and the environments that can change them.
  • Collaborate with the design team and other stakeholders to ensure successful projects from start to finish.
Requirements
  • Valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving policy.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to pass a drug test regardless of state legalization.
  • Comfortable lifting 65lbs on a continuous basis.
  • Ability to travel within Colorado as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's, Bachelor of Science, or greater degree.
  • Knowledge of general inspection and testing principles, safety, and quality control/quality assurance principles.
  • Active applicable certifications: Nuclear Density Gauge and Hazmat, ACI, CAPA, WAQTC, ICC, and/or AWS.
  • Knowledge of construction methods and procedures for roadways, commercial buildings, and other structures including the ability to interpret roadway, civil, and/or building plans, specifications, and codes.
  • Experience in safety responsibilities related to the construction of transportation facilities, civil work, and building construction.
  • Proficiency in software: Microsoft Word and Excel, Blue Beam, Adobe.
  • Knowledge in the use of electronic data processing equipment and/or contract management software.
Compensation and Benefits

Compensation based on experience: Entry level candidates with no certifications who require on the job training: $25 per hour. Experienced Candidates with active industry certifications: $26- $38 per hour. Available Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K with 4% employer match, paid Vacation, paid Sick days, 7 1⁄2 paid Holiday's.
