Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Metallurgical Quality Engineer to join our team at Perryman Company. As a key member of our quality team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the precision and accuracy of our products and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement policies and procedures for testing and evaluating products and equipment.
  • Provide support to operations, interact with customers, suppliers, and collaborate with engineering, production, quality systems, and process engineering teams.
  • Perform process improvement projects in laboratory and production areas.
  • Validate new equipment and processes in laboratory and production areas.
  • Maintain internal specifications and assist with review and revision of quality documents.
  • Review third-party specifications for capability.
  • Assist with qualification requirements for new customers.
  • Interface with raw material suppliers.
  • Participate in industry associations such as ASTM, ASM, or Nadcap.
  • Collect and analyze data, track trial/qualification orders, and ensure proper documentation.
  • Plan and perform measurements to support production of new reference materials.
  • Assist laboratory personnel and quality manager in data creation.
  • Become competent with laboratory analyzers and assist with analyzer calibrations/improvements.
  • Assist with implementation of corporate quality initiatives and training.
  • Assist with corrective actions and root cause analyses.
  • Perform internal audits for quality and environmental and assist in third-party and customer audits.
  • Member of the internal auditing team.
  • Attain Green Belt training.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Chemistry.
  • 2-5 years' experience in a quality role within a regulated industry, with increasing responsibility, preferred.
  • Experience with AS9100, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and Nadcap accreditations is a plus.
  • Proficiency in computer software for data analysis, preferably Microsoft Excel and statistical packages.
  • Experience in areas such as Statistics, SPC, Sampling, Design of Experiments, etc.
  • Ability to analyze, understand, and effectively communicate technical material.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma is a plus.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation, organizational, and management skills.
