SAIC is seeking a highly skilled SQL Database Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our database development team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining large-scale databases to support our Electronic Warfare Data System (EWDS).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop new databases, as well as update existing ones, using heavy SQL.
  • Develop simulations and exercises to test readiness responses and communication channels.
  • Respond to analysts and users requests for assistance in database integration and development.
  • Work with clients to translate business requirements into a logical model that accurately supports and represents the client's entity relationship and flow of data.
  • Develop the appropriate database framework to convert the logical model into a physical model, including the creation and maintenance of schemas containing windows, screens, tables, and columns, and reports that support the model.
  • Participate in quality assurance and develop test application code in a client-server environment.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of five (5) years' experience, or a Master's degree and three (3) years of experience.
  • Expert degree of experience in SQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, SQL programming, and scripting.
  • Understanding of Database Administration (DBA) and Configuration Management (CM) processes and supporting Requirements Management.
  • Full understanding of the flow down of Interface Design Documents to Database Data Definitions for the output of version-controlled databases.

Clearance:

  • Must have an active Secret security clearance and be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in management systems, standards, requirements, guidelines, and quality assurance for database deliverables, such as conceptual design and architecture, logical database, capacity planning, external data interface specification, data loading plan, data maintenance plan, and security policy.

Target Salary Range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.

SAIC accepts applications on an ongoing basis and there is no deadline.
