In today's climate, we urgently need dedicated individuals to safeguard reproductive rights. The ongoing legislative changes threaten the right to abortion, and we are collaborating with Reproductive Freedom for All Arizona to mobilize the majority of Americans who support legal abortion access.
Reproductive Freedom for All is a non-profit advocacy organization focused on organizing and empowering our members to champion access to abortion, contraceptive services, paid parental leave, and protections against pregnancy discrimination. Our Arizona chapter, Reproductive Freedom For All Arizona, alongside our extensive membership, is actively working to eliminate existing barriers to abortion and prevent future restrictions on reproductive rights.
This position offers a valuable opportunity to develop skills in Leadership, Communication & Advocacy, Community Engagement, Campaign Management, Public Policy, and Social Impact.
Competitive Compensation Canvasser roles begin at $23/hour, while leadership roles start at $25/hour. We provide overtime pay, bonuses for drivers, shift incentives, comprehensive training, sick leave, and referral bonuses.
Position Responsibilities for Canvassers ($23/hr):
- Engage the public with a friendly and respectful approach
- Deliver a persuasive campaign message and gather thorough survey responses from voters
- Participate in training sessions to enhance outreach capabilities
- Adhere to safety protocols, including PPE usage and compliance with health guidelines
Position Responsibilities for Team Leaders ($25/hr):
- All Canvasser Responsibilities plus:
- Oversee a small team of canvassers in the field, providing support and feedback throughout the day
- Ensure each team member has the necessary materials for success and safety
- Assist management with training and administrative tasks
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A passion for progressive advocacy and democratic engagement
- Excellent communication skills; a willingness to engage with diverse individuals
- A strong work ethic and motivation to connect with as many people as possible
- A readiness to embrace new challenges and enhance campaign skills
- Cultural competence and the ability to engage respectfully with colleagues and the community
- Previous canvassing experience is not required.
