Qualifications:
- Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent GED.
- Proven experience in route planning and optimizing transportation methods.
- Ability to develop transport plans that enhance loading efficiency, reduce transit times, and minimize logistics costs.
- Experience in managing logistics processes across various operations, including warehouse management and local transport.
- Strong teamwork skills and a positive attitude.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), with skills in vlookup and pivot tables.
- Excellent prioritization skills, capable of addressing urgent matters without neglecting other responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and identify potential risks during contract negotiations and operational execution, proposing effective mitigation strategies.
- Maintain strong relationships with shipping and execution partners (including rail and trucking companies) to secure competitive transportation resources and rates.
- Develop simple tools for tracking shipment statuses and reporting to management and stakeholders.
- Analyze operational data to identify and resolve issues affecting the smooth flow of goods.
- Prepare and present monthly reports on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to delivery performance.
- Communicate delivery status updates to clients and stakeholders.
- Formulate plans for process improvements in logistics operations, focusing on cost reduction and efficiency enhancements.
- Identify and address operational challenges in logistics, establishing standards for various transport types.
- Facilitate communication and regular meetings with carriers, customers, and internal teams.
- Conduct ad-hoc reporting as necessary.
- Perform additional job-related tasks as required.
