Internship Program OverviewOur Interns & Co-ops are our entry-level talent pipeline for GF across the globe. Our goal is to provide students with a meaningful work experience that will equip them with the skills to embark on a career in the fast-paced and growing semiconductor industry after graduation. As an intern at GF, you'll experience one-on-one mentorship, work assignments that prioritize your growth and potential, professional development opportunities, and the chance to network with executives.
Summary of RoleAs a TCAD student intern at GLOBALFOUNDRIES, you'll engage in hands-on TCAD engineering, leveraging advanced device development applications to deliver solutions across diverse technology nodes and fabs. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing TCAD support for various technology architectures, including advanced non-volatile memory (NVM) devices, FinFET, SOI, and bulk CMOS devices.
- Utilizing commercial simulation software to model semiconductor front end of line process flows and project electrical performance.
- Developing TCAD models to simulate key physical interactions and phenomena, enabling the prediction and optimization of semiconductor device behavior.
- Collaborating with Device, Process Integration, and Design teams to identify simulations that highlight critical process-design interactions.
- Engaging with local and global teams, presenting work in program review meetings and task forces.
- Utilizing AI/ML to enhance TCAD capabilities for faster and more accurate simulations.
You will also be responsible for performing all activities in a safe and responsible manner and supporting all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
Required QualificationsTo be eligible for this internship, you must:
- Be actively pursuing a Master's, or PhD in physics, electrical engineering, materials science or related field.
- Have at least an overall 3.0 GPA and be in good academic standing.
- Be fluent in English (written and verbal).
- Be able to work at least 20 hours per week during the internship.
We are looking for candidates with prior related internship or co-op experience, demonstrated prior leadership experience, project management skills, and a solid understanding of semiconductor device physics and statistics.
