The Role

We're seeking an experienced VP of Product Management to lead our cross-functional teams of Product Management, Design, Product Ops, and Engineering. As a strategic leader, you'll be responsible for driving product development outcomes, partnering with key stakeholders, and removing obstacles for talented individuals. Your focus will be on building teams, creating systems/processes, and empowering your team to deliver exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Growing an Effective Team: Hire, support, and develop a team of Product Managers and Product Designers to do the best work of their careers.
  • Leading with Deep Understanding: Establish and drive a posture and practice of understanding customer problems deeply - not just reacting to customer requests or crafting screens based on abstract requirements.
  • Creating New Products: Conceive, design, prototype, implement, handoff, and QA new products from conception to launch.
  • Removing Ambiguity and Driving Decisions: Frame problems and challenges based on evidence and decision criteria to remove ambiguity and reduce risk.
  • Driving Quality, Consistency, and Accessibility: Sweat the details and care as much about the adoption and use of the product that goes live as you do about the in-process requirements, schedules, and ceremonies.
  • Collaborating Exceptionally: Work collaboratively with peers in Product Design, Product Ops, Engineering, and across Fora Travel.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of product management experience, preferably in a startup or growth-stage company.
  • Demonstrated success building and leading teams of Product Managers (and Product Designers) as an executive owner.
  • Experience making products for both B2B and Consumer-facing products or significant experience in at least one.
  • Excited about creating 0-1 products quickly and iterating on existing products.
  • Approach product management with an eye on practicality and business impact rather than just building and deploying.
  • Comfortable working with partial data or input.
  • Ability to communicate ideas well to colleagues and stakeholders as well as an ability to speak fluently with advisors to secure product feedback.
  • Strong ability to create easy-to-use products to accomplish complex tasks.
  • Fondness for identifying and addressing uncertain issues and converting them into well-defined objectives.
  • An eye for visually appealing and meticulously crafted UX, paying close attention to details.
  • Interested in working in-person in NYC in our amazing office in Tribeca/Fidi with convenient transportation and to-die-for NYC views.
Compensation

Salary Range: $220-$275k + equity. Benefits include unlimited vacation, health insurance, dental & vision insurance, ClassPass Membership, 401k plan, commuter benefits, supplemental life insurance, and stock options. This role is based in our beautiful New York City office (Tribeca/Fidi) with lots of natural light and great views.
