Key Responsibilities:


The Patient Registration Specialist is tasked with:

  • Ensuring accurate patient identification
  • Collecting comprehensive demographic information
  • Verifying insurance details and eligibility
  • Determining financial responsibilities for services rendered
  • Guiding patients to financial counseling resources when necessary

The specialist adheres to established policies and procedures to manage patient financial obligations effectively. Additionally, this role serves as a valuable resource for patients and their families, providing clarity on hospital policies and patient rights.


Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:
  • At least one (1) year of experience in a healthcare registration environment or related field
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Two (2) years of experience in a similar role
  • Familiarity with charity care programs and various financial assistance options

Essential Skills:
  • Comprehensive understanding of insurance policies and procedures
  • Basic proficiency in medical terminology
  • Ability to perform fundamental mathematical calculations for payment processing
  • Experience in managing financial transactions
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills
