Job Description:

Ryder is seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to join our team in Springfield, MA. As a Senior Level Diesel Technician, you will be responsible for performing routine preventative maintenance, basic diagnostics and repairs, and complex mechanical inspections and repairs on heavy duty vehicles.

Responsibilities:

Perform standard vehicle maintenance and preventive maintenance
Diagnose complex mechanical and electronic problems utilizing diagnostic computer when applicable
Complete complex and detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision
Replace defective components as instructed
Work unsupervised on most tasks

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Vocational or Technical Certification Post Secondary degree or Technical Certifications, preferred
Basic tools, required
Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including routine preventative maintenance, basic diagnostics and repairs, and complex mechanical inspections and repairs
Three (3) years or more relevant work experience, preferred
Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred
All other certification as required by location, required

Additional Requirements:

Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy duty and medium duty equipment
Knowledge of and the ability to apply knowledge of computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
