Ramp Agent Job Description

Piedmont Airlines, Inc is seeking a motivated and reliable professional to join our team as a Ramp Agent in our Ground Handling Department.

The primary responsibility of the position is baggage handling and servicing aircraft in a fast-paced outdoor airport environment. Ramp Agents are expected to keep both the company goals and customer expectations in mind when completing their daily tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Below-the-wing servicing of the aircraft
  • Loading and unloading baggage and cargo
  • Operating motorized service vehicles and equipment
  • Guiding and parking aircraft
  • Performing cabin maintenance tasks
  • De-icing aircraft
Requirements:
  • Successful completion of training course
  • Ability to meet company goals and customer expectations in a high-energy environment
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and multitask
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous airline experience
  • Previous employment as a front-line customer service provider
  • Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs
Work Environment:
  • Use of computers, telephones, and other office equipment
  • Airport ramp environment, subject to varied weather conditions and elevated noise levels
  • All shifts including weekends, nights, holidays, and/or irregular shifts
Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, walking, standing, reaching, lifting, climbing up and down stairs
  • Handling objects up to 70 pounds
  • Assisting passengers with disabilities, including, but not limited to, pushing wheelchairs

Starting pay: $15.25/hr

Piedmont Airlines, Inc offers a competitive salary, performance-based bonuses, and relocation packages, subject to company policy and performance metrics.

Benefit package includes paid training, holiday pay, 401(k), vacation, and family travel on the American Airlines network. Medical and dental available.
