The Diagnostic Imaging Specialist is responsible for operating MRI equipment to produce high-quality images for diagnostic purposes. This role requires a strong understanding of anatomical positioning, physics, and MRI safety.
Key Responsibilities- Review orders prior to procedures to ensure accuracy and patient safety.
- Provide excellent patient care by educating and preparing patients for procedures.
- Obtain and document accurate patient medical history to assist radiologists' interpretation.
- Perform MRI procedures as required based on physician's orders.
- Clean and maintain all imaging equipment.
- Completion of a Radiologic Technology Associates degree program or completion of MRI technology certification program.
- Minimum one (1) year MRI experience preferred.
- ARRT (R) certification required.
- ARRT (MR) certification required or registry eligible (if eligible must obtain MR certification within 24 months of hire or transfer date).
- Understand and utilize anatomical positioning, physics, MRI safety, critical thinking, time management, effective communication, and proficiency in IV access for contrast media administration.
The Diagnostic Imaging Specialist must be able to stand, sit, and walk frequently, and use hands and fingers occasionally. The employee must exert 20 to 35 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 15 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
