The Opportunity

We are looking for a skilled Cloud Software Engineer to join our team working hybrid in our Denver, Colorado office.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced engineer capable of working independently and using resources at hand to overcome obstacles.

Responsibilities include:

  • Designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining features with guidance from more experienced engineers.
  • Implementing code that is clear, concise, tested, and easily understood by others.
  • Working to improve test coverage, and code structure.
  • Responsible for the entire lifecycle of their code: development, test, deployment, observability and subsequent fixes and improvements.
  • Performing code reviews, keeping in mind the standards and practices of DAT Engineering.
  • Actively seeking constructive feedback. Giving feedback to others.
  • Leveraging AWS to deliver cloud-native solutions.
  • Writing unit, integration, and functional tests.
  • Documenting software systems and project tasks.
  • Participating in design & code reviews.

What You'll Do

Work with a highly skilled and cooperative team to produce high quality backend and frontend software.

Leverage AWS to deliver efficient, cloud-native solutions.

Write unit, integration, and functional tests, and guide others in doing the same.

Document software designs and project tasks.

Review functional requirements and analyze their impact on schedule and software design.

Provide technical feedback to other team members.

Serves as on-call first responder for software their team owns.

Design and develop code that is reliable, maintainable, and extendable.

Participate in design/code reviews.

Partner with senior engineers to understand business needs and hone down technical specifications.

Partner with senior engineers to improve the operational state of the team's services.

Document software designs and project tasks.

Work with team members to improve development processes and practices.

The Skills and Experience You'll Bring

2+ years of experience working with and Typescript.

1+ years of experience in Angular or React.

Proficient with front end technologies such as CSS, JS, and HTML.

Applied Knowledge of REST/GraphQL APIs and established best practices.

Modern object oriented scripting languages such as Javascript, Typescript, or equivalent.

Applied experience with Cloud-Native Development such as in AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Experience creating and contributing to data driven websites that provide end users with actionable insights.

Working knowledge of DevOps pipeline and build/deploy tools.

Ability to collaborate with Product Managers, Product Owners, and UX/UI Designers.

Effective interpersonal, written communication skills.

Adept at effectively working with professionals from a wide range of disciplines.

Passionate about delivering high quality results.

Committed to ongoing professional development and learning.

Practical experience of Design Principles and Patterns.

Applied Knowledge with unit testing.

Applied Knowledge with Agile and at least one agile methodology such as SCRUM, XP, or SAFE.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Bonus Skills

Experience with Elasticsearch/OpenSearch.

Experience with containerization and local development toolings for Docker & Kubernetes.
