About the Role

Buena Vista University is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Academic Advisor to join our team in Council Bluffs. As a key member of our enrollment and student success team, you will play a critical role in recruiting and retaining students in the Council Bluffs region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a recruitment territory to identify and engage prospective students
  • Collaborate with the Director of Enrollment & Student Success to promote BVU in the community and attend events
  • Host classroom visits and build strong relationships with prospective students through extensive outreach
  • Advise and support assigned students from inquiry through graduation, providing guidance on academic and career goals
  • Work closely with faculty and staff to ensure a seamless student experience
Requirements

We are seeking a candidate with a Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience in student service and higher education. The ideal candidate will possess excellent written and oral communication skills, a high degree of professionalism, and the ability to establish and achieve priorities in a fast-paced environment.
