Position Overview

Join our dynamic team at International Flavors and Fragrances as a Senior Team Leader. This role is pivotal in overseeing the daily operations within our process-oriented departments, including Spray Dry, Powders, Reaction, Extrusion, and more.

Key Responsibilities:
- Drive optimization of personnel, processes, and tools to ensure production output meets or surpasses expectations.
- Identify and resolve challenges that hinder productivity, while providing actionable recommendations for ongoing enhancements.
- Anticipate potential obstacles and implement corrective measures to consistently achieve output goals.

- Foster development and motivation among team members to align individual objectives with overall team goals.
- Conduct performance assessments, maintain counseling records, and facilitate communications and safety meetings with direct reports.
- Manage scheduling, overtime, vacation, and PTO for team members.

- Collaborate with fellow leadership team members to achieve plant objectives and key performance indicators.
- Respond swiftly to escalated issues and urgent customer requests.

Essential Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficient in change management and time management.
- Customer-oriented with effective problem-solving skills.
- Excellent teamwork capabilities.
- Competence in delivering presentations in small group settings.
- Ability to analyze data from process areas to inform decision-making.

- Ensure timely backflushing of materials post-batch completion to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Operate electric and gas sit-down and reach trucks as necessary.

Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, SAP, Excel, and inventory control is essential, along with maintaining high sanitation standards in the work area. Physical requirements include the ability to push/pull 400-pound drums and lift 100-pound bags as needed.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2-5 years of experience in a food or chemical manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations.
- Experience in process manufacturing and managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Background in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with SAP is advantageous.
- Background in handling food-type products.
- Mechanical aptitude.
