About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Bridge Design Engineer to join our team at Lochner. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for conducting structural analyses, developing calculations, and preparing contract documents in accordance with state and local agency requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct structural analyses and develop calculations for bridge design projects
  • Prepare contract documents, including plans, specifications, and construction cost estimates
  • Provide guidance to junior engineers and draft persons on a project basis
  • Review contract documents and submittals for compliance with engineering principles and owner standards
  • Participate in constructability reviews and support construction by reviewing field change requests and nonconformance reports
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field, or equivalent
  • 5 years of relevant experience in bridge design and transportation projects
  • Experience with DOT, AASHTO, and AREMA standards
  • Experience with MicroStation and STAAD software
  • Experience in preparing contract documents, including drawings and specifications
  • Experience in steel and concrete bridge design and plan preparation
  • Experience in bridge design, modeling, and analysis software
  • Experience with LARSA 4D, CSI Bridge, or other 3D FEM structural modeling software
