Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated, technically experienced team leader to serve as Electrical Department Manager based in Houston, Austin or Dallas, TX. The ideal candidate will have a passion for leading technically proficient teams, designing custom solutions, mentoring mid-level and junior staff, managing the electrical team workload and developing calculations, drawings, reports, and specifications for the electrical design work on exciting and complex projects.

Responsibilities
  1. Lead and develop teams to complete building engineering projects.
  2. Serve as a Discipline Leader for our Texas team.
  3. Complete Electrical power and lighting designs for building projects of all sizes.
  4. Making major design recommendations and design decisions with little input from senior staff.
  5. Plan design work, calculate costs, and time schedules to assign design duties to junior staff working on projects.
  6. Coordinate design and schedule with other disciplines such as architectural, structural, mechanical, technology, and equipment suppliers.
  7. Maintain accurate project documentation and design data for permanent project files.
  8. Act as an adviser and reviews correspondence prepared by junior project team members.
  9. Evaluate project staffing requirements, analyzes problems, and writes reports.
  10. Attend project meetings, or when appropriate, delegates activities.
  11. Meet with clients, prepares proposals, and presentations while maintaining good client relations.
  12. Identify prospective clients, assists in marketing to develop new clients, and develops future projects with existing clients.
  13. Assist in project checking for quality control on other projects.
  14. Have knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of technical plans and drawings.
  15. Switch between work on multiple/different projects daily.
  16. Represent the organization and maintains liaison with individuals and related organizations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering plus eight (8) years of related design experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Driver's License.
Compensation

The expected salary range for this position is $130,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year, depending on location and individual qualifications.
