Job Description
  AtWork Personnel Services is currently seeking a skilled Network Operations Technician to join our IT team. As a Network Operations Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining the reliability and integrity of our organization's network infrastructure.
  Key Responsibilities include:
  • Fully test all newly installed computer components to ensure they meet technical requirements prior to deploying them onto production floor.
  • Determine the cause of the problem and take corrective action when encountering difficulties such as low disk space, an improperly configured router, or incorrect subnet masking.
  • Establish, maintain, and enhance secure connections between one company’s system and another companies’ system using a Wide Area Network(WAN), Local Area Network(LAN), Dial-Up Modem Network(DUN).
  • Develops plans for testing non-standard repairs not published by suppliers manuals, gives users clear instructions on the use of each tool, provides overall direction concerning each routine during lessons taught at meetings held at user facilities.
  • Collaborate with management, staff, contractors, vendors and others to improve efficiency, productivity and effectiveness while ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Develop self-assessment tools that assess skills/knowledge in terms of performance indicators for education/training needs identified within my department unit/division.
  • Install routers, LAN switches, WAN devices, printers, tape backup drives, and other peripherals; configure network devices to obtain IP addresses automatically or manually via DHCP;
  • Perform remote support and assistance for users experiencing connectivity issues through email, phone calls, instant messaging, VPN software etc.; assist users with setting up static IP addresses on their computers if necessary.

Requirements
  Education: Associate's degree from a college in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field
  Experience: 3+ years experience supporting multi-server network environments, video surveillance systems, and/or wireless networks. Valid California Class C driver's license is required. Candidates must be able to operate district vehicles to travel to work sites. Ability to climb ladders and ability to provide own safety boots. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database software.
