Job Summary:
Auberge du Soleil seeks a highly skilled and knowledgeable Wine Connoisseur to join our team. As a key member of our wine program, you will be responsible for cultivating a unique and exceptional wine list, pairing our guests with exquisite food and wine pairings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive wine list that showcases a diverse selection of wines from around the world.
- Provide expert knowledge and guidance to guests on wine pairings, wine and food pairings, and wine service standards.
- Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement strategic plans for the wine program, ensuring alignment with the company's vision and goals.
- Lead and direct the execution of guest service standards within wine and beverage operations, driving growth and profitability.
- Maintain the integrity of the wine program through regular quality checks of opened wines by the glass.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, wine releases, and wine education to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Assist in training staff members on beverage knowledge and systems related to wine.
- Participate in wine and beverage tastings and seminars to stay current with industry developments.
Requirements:
- Extensive knowledge of wine, including wine regions, grape varieties, and wine production methods.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with guests, staff, and management.
- Strong leadership and direction skills, with the ability to motivate and guide team members.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Wage range: $21.00-$ (plus gratuities).
