Key Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will offer technical mechanical engineering expertise to support the ES62 Space Station Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Removal, Advanced Exploration Systems (AES) Life Support Systems (LSS), and ES62 International Space Station (ISS) Environmental Control Life Support System (ECLSS) Sustaining Engineering. Support tasks include, but are not limited to: software design, development, troubleshooting, and documentation utilizing LABVIEW.

Essential Qualifications:

Education:

A degree in chemical or mechanical engineering or a related technical field is essential. A degree from an ABET-accredited institution is preferred. Typically, educational qualifications equate to a Master's degree with a minimum of 8 years of experience, or a Bachelor's degree with at least 10 years of experience.

Required Skills:

  • Certification in LABVIEW Programming.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in programming systems using LABVIEW.
  • At least 2 years of experience with thermal/fluid components, systems, and related instrumentation.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with gaseous and liquid fluid flow systems.
  • Experience with Aerospace flight system component testing.

Work Environment:

Office setting. Requires clear, concise, accurate, and timely communication, both verbally and in writing. Must interact professionally with colleagues, management, and clients. Minimal travel within the domestic USA may be required.

Physical Requirements:

Requires prolonged periods of sitting during meetings and while performing engineering tasks. Must be able to use stairs or elevators for access between floors and buildings.

Equipment Usage:

Requires proficiency in operating a personal computer and general office equipment.

Attendance:

Normal work hours are Monday through Friday. Regular attendance is essential, and arrangements for delegating responsibilities during absences are necessary.

Other Essential Functions:

The ability to work independently with minimal supervision, make informed decisions, and exercise sound judgment is crucial. Professional grooming and attire are expected.
