Job Summary

The Clinical Psychologist is a key member of our faculty, responsible for educating students in their area of expertise, facilitating Problem-Based Learning (PBL), advising Osteopathic Medical students, interviewing applicants, and contributing to the mission of the college through research and service. The successful candidate is knowledgeable and qualified to teach psychology at a Medical College level, with a strong background in clinical psychology and experience in counseling practice and teaching.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as content expert in clinical psychology, providing guidance and support to students and faculty.
  • Facilitate Problem-Based Learning (PBL) sessions, helping students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Advise and mentor Osteopathic Medical students, providing guidance on academic and professional development.
  • Interview applicants for the College of Medicine, assessing their qualifications and potential for success in the program.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of educational programs and materials, ensuring that they are accurate, effective, and aligned with the college's mission and goals.
  • Participate in research and service activities, advancing the field of clinical psychology and contributing to the college's reputation as a leader in osteopathic education.
Requirements
  • Doctorate level of achievement in psychology or a field qualifying for a state license in psychology from an accredited institution.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in counseling practice and teaching experience at a college and/or graduate level education preferred.
  • Knowledge of psychiatric diagnostic criteria, competency with psychological methodologies, and effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work with individuals at all levels in the organization, maintain confidentiality of work-related information and materials, and establish and maintain effective working relationships.
