The role of the Registered Nurse in the MedSurg/Telemetry unit involves providing comprehensive care for patients with various medical conditions. This includes managing cases such as Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), Atrial Fibrillation (A fib), Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA), Pneumonia (PNA), gastrointestinal bleeding, Acute Kidney Injury (AKI), and post-operative care for procedures like catheterization and Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR).
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and monitor a range of medications including:
- Anti-Arrhythmics (IV/PO)
- Anticoagulants (IV/PO)
- Anti-Hypertensives (IV/PO)
- Diuretics (IV/PO)
- Vasoactive drips (without titration)
- Anti-seizure medications (IV/PO)
- Narcotics (opioid/IV/PO)
- Nitrates
- Heparin infusions
This position requires a dedicated professional who is committed to delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. The Registered Nurse will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and provide education to patients and their families regarding their health conditions and treatment plans.
