Job Title: Adjunct Faculty

Azusa Pacific University is seeking a qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels in the School of Business and Management.

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver instruction in the manner determined by the department.
  • Prepare syllabus and teach curriculum according to department goals and objectives.
  • Advise students and hold office hours as assigned.
  • Participate in faculty meetings and departmental activities.
  • Evaluate student mastery of material and assign final course grades.
  • Responsible for daily electronic timekeeping.
Qualifications:
  • Must be a recent ABD or have a terminal degree in the field of instruction or a related area.
  • Prefer peer-reviewed publications within the last five years.
  • Currently meets criteria for AACSB Scholarly Academic (SA), Practice Academic (PA), Scholarly Practitioner (SP), or Instructional Practitioner (IP).
  • Ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds.
  • At least five years' experience in academic teaching or discipline-based professional experience, or a combination of both.
  • Demonstrated, vibrant Christian faith compatible with the mission of Azusa Pacific University.
Workload:

Assigned teaching duties will not exceed 9 units per semester; office hours and additional duties may be assigned. Total workload will not exceed 29 hours per week, nor 24 units per 12-month period.

  • Ability to engage in critical thinking and exercise independent judgment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage confidential information.
  • Self-starter, ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form.
Compensation:

$25.32 - $27.32/hour (Using a 3 unit full semester appointment as a pay guide). The actual hourly rate will be determined by the units, course length, experience, and rank of the candidate.
