Responsibilities
Faculty members will be integral in the design, implementation, and assessment of the nursing curriculum. Key responsibilities include:
- Upholding the mission and philosophy of the Leach College of Nursing.
- Engaging in continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Teaching Responsibilities:
Selecting appropriate content and teaching methodologies to meet course objectives; directing student learning in classroom and clinical settings; evaluating student competencies through various assessment methods; collaborating on course syllabus development; maintaining partnerships with clinical agencies for student practicum experiences; enhancing teaching effectiveness through ongoing professional development. - Student Advisement:
Providing academic advising; being accessible to students beyond scheduled office hours; referring students to appropriate resources for additional support. - Contributing to the University and community through committee service, participation in university activities, student recruitment, and engagement in scholarly research.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) required; Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) or Ph.D. preferred.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility for licensure.
- A minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience.
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development through continuing education and scholarly activities.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the role.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in teaching at the baccalaureate or graduate level.
- Familiarity with simulation-based teaching methods.
- Proficiency in technology and online nursing education.
Work Schedule
This is a full-time, nine-month contract position. A competitive compensation and benefits package is offered.
Physical Requirements
The role involves working in classroom and office environments with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards. The position is primarily sedentary, requiring activities such as sitting, walking, and using a computer.
