Biology Educator

Job Summary

Touro University New York is seeking a highly qualified Biology Teacher to join our team. As a Biology Teacher, you will be responsible for instructing students in biology and related subjects, developing curriculum and instructional materials, and assessing student progress.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans and instructional materials that align with Common Core Standards and the NYS Regents curriculum.
• Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment, promoting active learning and academic achievement.
• Manage student behavior in the classroom, establishing and enforcing rules and procedures to maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
• Provide regular feedback on student work, encouraging progress and development.
• Monitor student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed to ensure student success.
• Prepare and maintain accurate records of student progress and development, including grades and assessments.
• Communicate effectively with parents and colleagues, providing updates on student progress and collaborating on instructional strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study from an accredited college or university; Master's degree or NY State teaching certification preferred.
• Professional experience related to the field of study, with a proven track record of academic success and student engagement.
