Position Overview

Insight Global is in search of a Senior Restoration Engineer with a wealth of experience in utility main replacements. This role involves collaborating with distribution pressure teams to facilitate the replacement of extensive lengths of piping.

Key Responsibilities

The selected engineer will:

  • Identify areas requiring pipe replacement and conduct thorough surveys.
  • Review survey findings to determine the best approach for pipe replacement, whether in situ or via a new routing.
  • Develop restoration plans that outline the necessary paving and surface restoration.
  • Consult on utility standards and procedures, ensuring compliance with main service protocols.
  • Engage with both internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure project success.
Qualifications

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • A Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Knowledge of engineering economics and utility accounting practices.
  • Experience with complex engineering projects.
  • A technical certificate in design.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in gas or pipeline engineering within the utility sector.
  • Proficiency in design, planning, technical fieldwork, specification preparation, scheduling, and project cost estimation.
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and project management skills.
  • The ability to foster effective working relationships in a team-oriented environment.
