Job Summary

We are seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. As a CNA, you will function as a direct patient caregiver, performing tasks to assist registered nurses and providing exceptional care to our patients.

Responsibilities
  1. Take and record temperature, pulse, respiration rates, blood pressures, weights, heights, and intake-output measurements.
  2. Encourage patients to turn, cough, and take deep breaths and to use incentive spirometry as specified by Plan of Care.
  3. Ambulate and assist patients in and out of bed, into wheelchairs, and transport when necessary.
  4. Attend to nutritional needs of patients, including distributing meal trays, feeding, filling and passing out water pitchers.
  5. Provide morning or evening care, which may include bed bath, oral hygiene, combing hair, back care, dressing patients, changing bed linen, cleaning over-bed tables and bedside stands, straightening rooms, and other supportive care as needed.
  6. Empty drains, canisters, urine bags, bedpans, and emesis basins and record intake and output.
  7. Assist in maintaining a safe environment, which may include reporting equipment that is out of order, appropriate handling of linen, and storing of supplies.
  8. Provide general care, such as positioning, lifting, or turning patients, assisting in the use of bedpans, urinals, or commodes, preoperative supportive care, and application/removal of abdominal binders or anti-embolism stockings and sequential compression devices.
  9. Collect urine, stool, and sputum specimens as ordered.
  10. Perform tasks, such as ROM, assist with ambulatory devices as specified by patients' plans of care.
  11. Perform phlebotomy (requires additional training) and EKG (requires special training).
  12. Promptly answer patient call lights and respond to patient requests.
  13. Report significant changes in patients' conditions to RNs.
  14. Help to maintain clean and orderly patient and work environments.
  15. Employ all established infection control policies, including standard precautions, transmission-based isolation precautions, OSHA standards, safety measures, and proper body mechanics in performance of job.
  16. Document/maintain patient records as appropriate.
Salary

The estimated salary for this position is around $35,000 - $45,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

Qualifications

We are looking for a certified nursing assistant with a minimum of one year of recent RN experience. Medical terminology is a plus, and the candidate must be able to operate a computer and possess excellent interpersonal skills. The candidate must also have an understanding and knowledge of patient care that may be appropriately delegated to nursing assistants.
