Registered Nurse

Rush University Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Bone Marrow Transplant team. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care to patients undergoing bone marrow transplants, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and emotional needs, and develop plans to address these needs.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current on best practices and advancements in bone marrow transplant care.
- Contribute to a positive and supportive work environment by promoting teamwork, respect, and open communication among colleagues.
- Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure required.
- Maintain current BLS certification.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or Associate's degree in nursing (ADN) (New graduates must have acceptance into an accredited school of nursing within 6 months from date of hire, and within 1 year from the date of hire, employee must be enrolled in a BSN program).
- RNs hired prior to 10/22/2020 are grandfathered in with an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or diploma in nursing, with no further need to obtain a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BAN or BSN).
- Chief Nursing Officer must provide approval for any RNs with ADN degree hired after 10/22/2020, based upon unit need. ADN RNs hired after 10/22/2020 must show continued enrolment towards a BSN degree with a signature of contract stipulating a BSN degree must be completed within 3 years of hire, Failure to do so will result in termination. ADN RNS are not eligible for leveling to RN3.
