Laboratory Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Technologist to join our team at Johns Hopkins University. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine and complex clinical laboratory protocols, including specimen intake, accessioning, cell selection, and extraction of nucleic acids from human specimens.
Key Responsibilities- Perform a variety of clinical laboratory protocols, including specimen intake, accessioning, cell selection, and extraction of nucleic acids from human specimens.
- Measure product concentrations and document protocol details and results.
- Maintain and troubleshoot equipment, notifying supervisors or service personnel when more complex problems occur.
- Prepare reagents following defined formulas and procedures and perform QC testing as required.
- Perform related general duties, such as ordering supplies, general lab housekeeping, and maintaining safety records.
- Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Chemistry, or related field.
- One or more years of experience in a laboratory environment.
- Strong written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and interpret direction, both oral and written, organize and prioritize work, and follow through on assignments.
The Laboratory Technologist will work in a clinical laboratory environment, exposed to toxins and infectious agents. The position requires manual dexterity, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
