Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Landscape Construction Program Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our Environmental Conservation Department, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating landscape construction projects and crews, managing project budgets, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols. You will work closely with our Director of Construction Training and Project Manager to plan, develop, bid, and evaluate landscape construction projects.

In this role, you will oversee and manage landscape construction project crews, write and manage project budgets, tool inventory, and oversee construction project materials, supplies, equipment, and vehicle maintenance. You will also plan, develop, bid, and evaluate landscape construction projects, help write department budgets and project reports, and provide regular supervision, training, and mentoring of crew supervisors and corpsmembers.

You will coordinate field supervisors and their crews for daily operations, coordinate landscape construction projects and programs with project partners and sponsors, conduct weekly site visits to ensure crews are working effectively and safely, and communicate and coordinate with project sponsors, including state and federal government entities.

As a Landscape Construction Program Coordinator, you will prepare a weekly schedule for all landscape construction crews and projects, maintain construction program project schedules, conduct bi-weekly staff meetings on various organizational topics, and prepare bi-weekly meeting agendas for landscape construction department meetings.

You will also assist the landscape construction manager with coordination and supervision of corpsmember development and training programs, manage equipment, project materials, safety equipment, and uniforms, and oversee landscape construction budgets to ensure expenses are within budget. You will prepare reports and present them to project sponsors, CCLB Board meetings, and City Council meetings, record daily project metrics in the field, and upload data and photos to the CCLB one drive or CorpNet.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience
  • Three years of experience in working with young adults from diverse social and ethnic backgrounds
  • Background and experience in landscape construction, urban greening, ecology, or wild and natural land management
  • Three years prior supervisory experience
  • Knowledge and appreciation of environmental conservation awareness
  • Possess good interpersonal skills to communicate and work effectively with public officials, community, and public entities
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Valid California Driver's License
