Job Summary

Northwell Health is seeking a highly skilled Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic to join our team. As a Paramedic, you will provide critical care to patients in emergency situations, utilizing your advanced life support knowledge and skills to stabilize and transport patients safely.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to emergency calls and provide medical care to patients in a prehospital setting.
  • Assess patients' conditions and prioritize medical procedures in accordance with New York State Department of Health Guidelines.
  • Administer first aid treatment or advanced life support care to patients as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, medical control, and treatment center personnel to coordinate patient care.
  • Document patient information and treatment in a comprehensive report.
  • Ensure the ambulance is equipped and maintained in accordance with Department policies and regulations.
  • Operate Department vehicles safely and in accordance with New York State Vehicle and Traffic Laws.
  • Attend training classes to maintain certification and licensure.
Requirements
  • High School degree or equivalent required.
  • Current NYS DOH EMT-Paramedic certification required.
  • Current New York City REMAC Paramedic certification required.
  • Must meet the criteria for NYS DOH Functional Description for qualifications, competencies, and tasks (EMT-Paramedic).
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience required.
