Senior Cyber Security Analyst

We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Cyber Security Analyst to join our team at PENN Entertainment, Inc. This role is responsible for designing and implementing robust security architectures to protect our enterprise.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor security systems and events to identify potential threats, intrusions, and other irregular activities.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of security incidents, determining the root cause and impact, and recommend or implement appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Perform proactive threat hunting and vulnerability assessments to identify and address security weaknesses.
  • Develop and maintain incident response playbooks and procedures, ensuring they are up-to-date with the latest threat intelligence and best practices.
  • Collaborate with IT, Engineering, and other departments to ensure that security controls are integrated into all phases of the software development lifecycle.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of security tools and technologies to enhance our security monitoring capabilities.
  • Provide mentorship and training to junior analysts and other team members on cybersecurity best practices and emerging threats.
  • Remain current on the latest cybersecurity trends, tools, and technologies to provide proactive defense against emerging threats.
  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation for security incidents, providing clear communication to stakeholders and management.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS).
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree (B.A./B.S.) in Information Security, Computer Science, or related field from a four-year college or university; or seven (7)+ years' related experience in a cyber security analysis and incident response; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, threat intelligence, and attack methodologies.
  • Experience with security information and event management (SIEM) tools, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and endpoint protection platforms.
  • Proven experience with network security, operating systems, and application security.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation and tool development is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle complex security incidents.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in security technologies and tools such as SIEM, PAM, EDR, and multi-factor authentication.
