Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at the UH Cleveland Medical Center Operating Room. As a key member of our cardiac, neuro, and transplant teams, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our surgeons and anesthesiologists in the operating room.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide safe and efficient patient care in a primary scrub position, taking responsibility for precepting others in the scrub role.
  • Assist with technical responsibilities in assigned operative procedures and serve as a resource in an area of expertise.
  • Ensure that appropriate instruments and supplies are present and in proper working condition, and demonstrate ability to operate service-specific equipment.
  • Provide labeled medications with correct doses on the sterile field and adhere to patient safety expectations.
  • Perform other duties that support the operative team, including following patient care hand-off protocol, standards, protocols, and policies in collaboration with a RN/ACN.
Requirements
  • Accredited Surgical Technician program
  • Thorough knowledge of asepsis, instrumentation, suture, and surgical procedures
  • Leadership skills or prior leadership experience
  • Ability to use a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient care needs and prescribed medical therapies
  • Responsibility for arranging in-service training for new and existing equipment

We offer a competitive hourly rate, a $6 elevated hourly rate for cardiac, neuro, and transplant specialties, and a $3,000 sign-on bonus for 1+ years of external Surg Tech experience. Additionally, we provide free parking and a supportive work environment.
