About the Role

We are seeking several Registered Occupational Therapists (OTR) to work on a PRN basis in various regions across Kansas, including Wichita, Lawrence, Topeka, Manhattan, and Overland Park. As an OTR with our organization, you will focus on the effects of injury on the social, emotional, and physiological condition of individuals, working closely with consumers to develop skilled therapy goals related to balance, motor skills, posture, perceptual, and cognitive abilities within everyday activities.

Occupational Therapy plays a crucial role in helping individuals achieve greater independence in their lives by regaining physical, perceptual, and/or cognitive skills needed for daily living tasks. You will provide supervision to occupational therapy assistants and ensure seamless service delivery aligned with Minds Matter, LLC's philosophical principles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement all aspects of Minds Matter, LLC's philosophical principles in service delivery.
  • Review, co-sign, and provide feedback on daily notes of therapy assistants.
  • Assist individuals in identifying needs and developing compensatory techniques for brain injury consequences, offering creative solutions for daily activities.
  • Evaluate consumers' physical and mental abilities, analyzing medical data to determine best therapies.
  • Complete documentation as necessary, including evaluations, progress notes, daily notes, letters of medical necessity, etc.
  • Integrate employment, educational, and independent living goals into therapy.
  • Collaborate with consumers and staff to monitor goal progress.
  • Attend team meetings and assist consumer in goal setting.
  • Provide services only as designated on each individual consumer's authorized plan of care.
  • Recommend adaptive equipment and/or home modifications.
  • Work directly with consumers to improve skills in life goals.
  • Educate families and caregivers about brain injury strategies and communicate goals and progress as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of protected health information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Requirements
  • SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF AN OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY PROGRAM FROM AN ACCREDITED UNIVERSITY MUST BE CURRENTLY LICENSED IN THE STATE OF KANSAS.
  • Some lifting required for consumers with physical needs
  • Requires good verbal skills and listening ability
  • Must be able to read and write
  • Basic iPad proficiency
  • Have reliable transportation
  • Check voicemail and email daily

Estimated salary range: $60,000 - $90,000 per year, based on location and experience. Please note that this is an estimate and actual salaries may vary.
