Job Title: Travel Nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Travel Nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit to join our team at Medical Solutions. As a Travel Nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced Progressive Care Unit environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality patient care in a Progressive Care Unit environment
  • Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
  • Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes to physicians
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care
About the Unit
  • Number of Beds: 15
  • Number of Staff: 22 (RN/PCT)
  • Type of Staff:
    • Day Shift: 3-4 RN, 2 PCT, 1 Clinical Coordinator
    • Night Shift: 3-4 RN, 1 PCT
  • Patient Ratios: 4-5/1
  • Type of Equipment:
    • Cardiac Telemetry
    • Chest tubes
    • Cardiac drips (NTG, Cardizem, Amiodarone)
    • Post Cath Patients
    • Post-surgical patients (open heart, lung, general surgery, orthopedic)
  • EMR: Meditech
Requirements
  • PCU experience
  • Knowledge of cardiac rhythms and surgical patients
  • Chest tube management, epidurals
Procedures Performed
  • Post cardiac cath, EP studies, device placements, groin management, chest tubes, post op surgical patients
  • Critical drips, epidurals, PCAR
Required Certifications
  • BLS & ACLS
