About the Role

This is a temporary assignment, often lasting weeks or months, to fill staffing gaps in healthcare facilities.

As a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, you will provide anesthesia care to patients undergoing surgery, including preoperative assessment, intraoperative anesthesia management and postoperative pain management.

You will collaborate with surgeons, surgical teams and other healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing anesthesia care to patients undergoing surgery
  • Collaborating with surgeons and surgical teams
  • Monitoring patient vital signs and adjusting anesthetic plans as needed
  • Responding to emergencies and providing critical care interventions
  • Maintaining accurate and complete medical records
  • Staying current on the latest advancements in anesthesia practice through continuing education
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Clinical expertise and technical proficiency in administering various anesthesia techniques
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with a surgical team
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to adapt to changing patient conditions

Education Requirements:

Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited CRNA program.

License & Certifications:

Active and unencumbered advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) license in Maine.

National certification as a CRNA by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA).
