Position Summary:
The Physician Assistant will practice within the legal scope of licensure as defined by state regulations and national certification standards. This role involves diagnosing, treating, and advising patients under the supervision of a licensed physician.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care: Conduct thorough assessments to gather comprehensive clinical information and medical history. Order necessary diagnostic tests and interpret results to formulate appropriate care plans.
- Treatment Implementation: Provide direct patient care, including prescribing medications and overseeing treatment plans to ensure optimal health outcomes.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely clinical records, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and billing protocols.
- Education and Training: Facilitate educational initiatives for patients and their families to enhance understanding of health conditions and treatment options. Mentor and train clinical staff and students in relevant areas of expertise.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care and share clinical insights effectively.
- Research Participation: Engage in research activities and apply evidence-based practices to improve patient care standards and protocols.
Qualifications:
- Current state licensure as a Physician Assistant.
- Eligibility for state Controlled Substance License II through V.
- Eligibility for Federal DEA Certificate II through V.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for healthcare providers.
- Additional certifications as required (e.g., ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NRP).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree or higher in a relevant field.
- Certification from a recognized professional organization such as the National Commission of Physician Assistants.
- Relevant clinical experience as defined by position leadership.
