Sediment Remediation Engineer Position

CDM Smith is seeking a highly skilled Sediment Remediation Engineer to join our team. As a senior-level professional, you will be responsible for leading sediment remediation projects for various clients, including federal and public sector agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing expertise in evaluating the feasibility of sediment remediation technologies and preparing sediment remediation designs for large riverine and coastal sites involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Understanding the scientific and engineering principles of sediment and contaminant transport, environmental site assessment, sampling technologies, cap modeling, and remedial action design.
  • Providing support of mathematical/statistical evaluations of environmental data sets.
  • Serving as CDM Smith's task manager on various components of complicated sediments sites, including assessing and understanding problems, developing and communicating technical strategies to clients, and interacting effectively with CDM Smith subject matter experts.
  • Possessing in-depth expertise in the various CERCLA process steps at sediment Superfund sites.
  • Serving as a technical liaison with clients, communicating complicated technical evaluations and designs to non-subject matter experts.
  • Leading other staff in preparing/reviewing/scrutinizing technical information to provide a document that is technically sound and that conforms to applicable regulations and policy.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Professional engineering (PE) license.
  • 7 years of related experience.
  • Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

  • Team player, excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Client-focused and ability to partner with clients (mainly Federal and Public agencies).
  • Negotiation and presentation skills.
