Biology Instructor

Join Johnston Community College as a part-time biology instructor and contribute to the academic success of our students. As a member of our faculty, you will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction, creating a supportive learning environment, and assessing student progress.

• Teach assigned biology classes, utilizing a variety of teaching methods to engage students and promote learning.
• Develop and implement effective lesson plans, incorporating relevant course materials and technology.
• Maintain accurate attendance and scholastic records, ensuring compliance with college policies and procedures.
• Participate in departmental meetings, contributing to the development of curriculum and instructional strategies.
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall learning experience and promote student success.

• Master's degree in Biology or a related field, with 18 graduate hours in Biology-related coursework.
• One year of teaching experience, preferably in a post-secondary environment.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse student populations.
• Proficiency in a Windows environment, with knowledge of email systems, PowerPoint, Blackboard, and online lab environments.
