Job SummaryThe Nursing Professional Development Specialist RN is responsible for designing and implementing educational activities for nursing staff across all WakeMed facilities. This role involves assessing, planning, developing, and evaluating educational programs to promote ongoing competency and quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement system-wide educational programs to meet the needs of nursing staff
- Collaborate with hospital staff to support the mission of the organization and the division of nursing
- Apply theoretical principles of adult learning to design effective educational programs
- Act as a resource to hospital staff on multiple levels to ensure adherence to professional standards and organizational policies
- 3 years of nursing experience required
- 2 years of experience in teaching and facilitation of learning preferred
- Bachelor's degree in nursing required; Master's degree in a related field or nursing preferred
- Registered Nurse licensure required; National Certification in Nursing required within 1 year of hire
Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm (variable for part-time); no weekends or call requirements
