Overview

Indiana University Health presents an exceptional opportunity to become part of the leading pediatric Hospital Medicine program in Indiana. Our diverse patient demographic spans the state, representing various backgrounds and cultures across multiple facilities within our extensive health system. The pediatric hospitalist team provides care at Riley Hospital in downtown Indianapolis, our advanced care center, as well as at community hospitals including IU North Hospital in Carmel, IU West Hospital in Avon, and IU Southern Indiana Hospital in Bloomington.

Expansion of Services

We are excited to announce that the next facility to incorporate Riley Children's pediatric hospital medicine services will be IU Saxony Hospital, located in the northeast suburb of Indianapolis.

Position Highlights

  • Comprehensive patient care experience across various models, serving a wide-ranging patient population.
  • Inpatient coverage across multiple specialties, including some newborn care, Level II NICU coverage, and attendance at high-risk deliveries.
  • Procedures performed may include lumbar punctures and potential circumcisions.
  • Opportunities for professional growth across diverse clinical environments.
  • Potential for an academic track with dedicated time for scholarly activities, including quality improvement, medical education, leadership, and research.
  • 12-hour shifts, which may be divided between days and nights, with a total of 154 shifts per year; holidays and weekends are shared among faculty; options for additional moonlighting are available.
  • A comprehensive benefits package that includes group insurance (health, dental, life, disability), a 401k plan with company matching, vacation time, relocation assistance, and occurrence-based malpractice insurance coverage from the first day of employment.
  • Eligibility for the national Public Service Loan Forgiveness program as a non-profit organization.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an ABMS-accredited pediatric residency; PHM fellowship preferred but not mandatory.
  • Board Eligible/Board Certified in general pediatrics.
  • Physician MD/DO licensed in Indiana or eligible for medical licensure.
