Pediatric Nurse Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Pediatric Nurse to join our team at Chester Pediatrics in White Plains, New York. As a Pediatric Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care to children and their families.

Responsibilities:
  • Greet and triage patients according to company standards
  • Record patient care documentation in EMR accurately and in a timely manner
  • Coordinate patient care as directed by physician's company standards and policies
  • Take patient vitals, throat swabs, draw blood, and assist physician in minor procedures when necessary
  • Administer medications/vaccines as directed by the physician
  • Process appropriate documents in an organized and accurate fashion
  • Respect patient confidentiality at all times
  • Prepare, restock, and disinfect examination rooms, procedure rooms, lab area, and all other patient care areas at scheduled intervals as needed
  • Represent practice in a professional manner and treat all customers and fellow employees in a courteous and cooperative manner
  • Run CBC and other basic labs
  • Return patient calls and give lab results under physician's guidance
  • Assist patients with referrals and prior school and medical accommodation forms
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing school required
  • Current New York license to practice professional nursing
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in pediatrics preferred, but not required
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology
  • Demonstrated ability to perform dosage calculations and measurement conversions
  • Basic computer literacy required
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • EMR experience (AthenaOne) preferred
  • Phlebotomy
  • Bi-Lingual English/Spanish a plus
