Position Overview:
The Medical Imaging Specialist is responsible for conducting diagnostic imaging procedures under the supervision of a physician. This role is part of a specialized weekend program designed to accommodate patient needs effectively.

Additional compensation for weekend shifts (Saturday & Sunday only)

Key Responsibilities:

Medical Imaging Specialist Duties:

- Capture x-ray images of designated body areas as instructed by the physician or radiologist, ensuring high-quality and accurate results.

- Guide and position patients for x-ray examinations, ensuring their comfort and understanding of the procedures.
- Conduct x-ray procedures using portable equipment as required by emergency services and other departments.
- Process imaging films for radiologist review, adhering to established protocols.

- Maintain cleanliness and organization of patient rooms by changing linens, restocking supplies, and sanitizing equipment.

- Safeguard patients from unnecessary radiation exposure by utilizing protective measures.

- Prepare and assist in administering contrast agents, monitoring dosages, and assessing for potential allergies in compliance with departmental standards.

- Ensure accurate patient records by updating or purging film jackets and filing reports appropriately.

- Oversee the maintenance of imaging and processing equipment through regular cleaning and testing, documenting any issues and notifying supervisors as needed.

Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.

- Successful completion of an accredited radiological training program and eligibility for certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is essential.

- A current license/certification in the relevant state is mandatory.
- Basic Life Support Certification is required, or must be obtained within one month of employment.

- A minimum of one (1) year of experience in a similar healthcare setting is preferred.
