Job Summary

Azusa Pacific University is seeking a qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach courses in the Department of Physical Therapy. The successful candidate will have a strong background in physical therapy and experience in teaching at the college or university level.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver instruction in the manner determined by the department
  • Prepare syllabus and teach curriculum according to the goals and objectives of the department
  • Advise students and hold office hours in relation to the course load carried
  • Participate in faculty meetings and departmental activities as identified by the department chair or program director
  • Determine student mastery of material and assign final course grades
  • Responsible for daily electronic timekeeping
Qualifications
  • Doctor of Physical Therapy or terminal degree in the field of instruction or related area
  • Three to five years of clinical experience as a licensed physical therapist
  • Preferred experience includes teaching at the college or university level
  • Ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds
  • Demonstrated, vibrant Christian faith compatible with the mission of Azusa Pacific University
Workload

Assigned teaching duties will not exceed 9 units per semester; office hours and additional duties may be assigned. Total workload will not exceed 29 hours per week, nor 24 units per 12-month period.

Compensation

$36.00/hour (Using a 3 unit full semester appointment as a pay guide). The actual hourly rate will be determined by the units, course length, experience, and rank of the candidate.
