Responsibilities:
The Primary Care Physician(s) will be responsible for:
- Delivering comprehensive healthcare to our veteran population, including diagnosing and managing patients with acute care needs.
- Conducting women's health evaluations, performing pelvic examinations, pap smears, and other gender-specific healthcare services for women.
- Providing medical treatment, consultations, and diagnoses as requested by other Services/Departments.
- Executing office-based procedures such as knee, shoulder, and hip injections/aspiration.
- Ordering necessary tests and integrating results into treatment plans.
- Initiating consultations, special tests, or studies as required.
- Authorizing inpatient and outpatient medical orders, treatments, and medications.
- Offering patient and family education and counseling on preventive care, medical conditions, and prescribed treatments.
- Acting as a teaching physician for internal medicine/transitional residents and preventive medicine residents/students.
- Participating in peer reviews, chart reviews, and hospital/clinic committees.
- Utilizing proficient data-entry (typing) skills.
- Managing MHC consults and employee occupational health assessments.
- Maintaining Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Performing other assigned duties.
