Position Overview

The role of an Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) involves collaborating with a licensed occupational therapist to support the implementation of patient rehabilitation programs, adhering to both federal regulations and state-specific practice guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct resident assessments (without interpretation) as permitted by state regulations.
  • Assist residents in executing rehabilitative tasks and exercises as per the treatment plan established with the occupational therapist.
  • Observe and ensure that activities are performed correctly while providing motivation and support.
  • Document resident progress for review by the occupational therapist.
  • May aid in organizing appointments, managing phone communications, replenishing supplies, and completing necessary paperwork, including insurance forms.
  • Deliver training to residents, caregivers, and families in line with the resident's care strategy.
  • Complete all required documentation in compliance with company policies and applicable state and federal laws.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree from an AOTA accredited program.
  • State-required licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
