JOB DESCRIPTION
Department: Cardiac Surgery
Shift Timings: Early Morning 06:00 - 15:00 Hours
Provides expert nursing care in the surgical environment for patients undergoing invasive procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts scrub duties, including the selection and management of instruments and supplies during procedures.
- Executes circulating responsibilities, which involve monitoring, documenting, and communicating patient status while overseeing comprehensive nursing care before, during, and after procedures.
- Assists the operating physician with surgical tasks such as hemostasis, suturing, and patient positioning.
- Prepares surgical environments and ensures instruments and equipment are ready for use.
- Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently.
- Must thrive in a high-pressure environment.
- Diploma from an accredited nursing school or required licensure at the time of hire.
- A minimum of three to seven years of experience in cardiac operating rooms.
- One to two years of experience as a circulating and scrub RN.
- BLS/ACLS certification.
- Registered Nurse credential from the relevant nursing board required.
- National Institute of Health (NIH) certification.
- COVID vaccination with two shots and a booster.
- Commitment to maintaining and enhancing clinical knowledge and skills.
- Engagement in relevant continuing education initiatives.
- Dedication to delivering exceptional patient care and service excellence.
- Ability to take initiative and exercise independent judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
