About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior ITS Traffic Engineer to join our team in Austin, TX. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing ITS/Traffic Engineering and design assignments of a varied nature.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Quality Control checks on drawings for traffic signals, signing and pavement markings, traffic control, lighting, and ITS for transportation projects.
  • Review project submittals, including conceptual, preliminary, and final ITS plans, and confirm compliance with state and federal design criteria and standards.
  • Assist in performing post-design oversight, such as shop drawing reviews and construction requests for information.
  • Experience with Testing and Acceptance Specifications necessary for a completely verified ITS implementation.
  • Experience with Design, Deployment and Operation of ITS Technologies.
  • Perform basic project functions of production coordination, planning, organizing, directing, controlling, financial management, and marketing assistance.
  • Participate in proposals and business development activities.
  • Prepare staff hour estimates and review scopes of services prior to negotiations for original contracts and supplemental agreements.
  • Expected to take the lead in project-specific teams and manage projects and tasks.
  • Contribute expertise in advanced concepts and techniques to solve unconventional problems.
  • Research feasibility of alternative approaches, technology capabilities, ITS deployments best practices, and cost benefits.
Requirements
  • B.S. or M.S. in Engineering. M.S. or graduate level technical coursework preferred.
  • This level may be achieved by Engineers with seven years of experience since B.S. or 6 years since M.S.
  • Two (2) years experience in ITS Design and Construction desired.
  • P.E. license is required.
  • Certified Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) license a plus.
  • Technical writing, computer and communications skills required.
  • Experience with Bluebeam preferred.
  • AutoCAD or MicroStation experience required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products required.
