Role Overview

This exciting opportunity serves as the first point of contact for parents and family members of Stony Brook University's diverse undergraduate and graduate students. The Assistant Director of Family Services is responsible for managing projects that promote family engagement, sense of belonging, communication, and education.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher) and three years of full-time advising, counseling, and/or administrative experience. Experience communicating with parents/families, event planning, and working with diverse populations is also essential.

A Master's degree in higher education administration, counseling, social work, or a related field is preferred, along with four or more years of full-time experience in advising, counseling, and/or administrative roles. Strong project management, supervisory, and presentation skills are highly valued.
