Job Summary: County Materials Corporation is a leading manufacturer and trusted industry resource for concrete construction and landscape products. We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Custer, WI. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment, performing mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs, and ensuring safety guidelines are followed at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment to identify and resolve issues
  • Perform mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs on equipment as needed
  • Ensure safety guidelines are followed at all times and properly documented
  • Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs of equipment
  • Perform general-purpose steel fabrication and welding
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals to perform necessary repairs and/or equipment service
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, material handling equipment, welders, and torches in performing duties
  • Maintain working areas in clean and orderly condition
  • Communicate with shop staff to schedule equipment for maintenance

Work Environment:

  • Work in indoor and outdoor weather conditions
  • Work near moving machinery and equipment - could include electrical hazards
  • Work in a noisy environment

Physical Requirements:

  • Sitting
  • Carrying/Lifting 10-40 Pounds often, >40 Pounds occasionally
  • Standing/Walking/Climbing
  • Squatting/Crouching/Kneeling/Bending
  • Pushing/Pulling/Reaching Above Shoulder

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in diesel mechanics
  • Pro-active, multi-tasked, self-motivated team player and positive attitude
  • Strong hydraulic, mechanical, welding, and industrial experience
  • A valid driver's license and good driving record
  • DOT Certification preferred
